Kayla lived her life with integrity, faith, love, laughter, joy, and compassion and every day she would display acts of kindness to every person she met. Through our foundation we hope to inspire young adults to live their lives with the
same passion and purpose. On the last day of her freshman year at Grand Canyon University, April 20, 2016, our daughter Kayla fell while climbing in Echo Canyon on Camelback Mountain. She survived the fall, but due to the nature and severity of the accident Kayla was tragically taken from us on April 30, 2016. Kayla was a 2015 Scholar Athlete Graduate from San Pasqual High School in Escondido, California. She received a full academic scholarship to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and was majoring in Finance and Economics. She always knew her ultimate calling would lead her to helping others. Kayla was loved and respected and was a role model and mentor to others. While we don’t understand our loss, we have chosen to turn our pain into purpose by moving Kayla’s spirit forward and make a positive social impact on deserving youth throughout our communities. We are a non-profit organization that truly understands the fact that only by working together, can we transform the lives of young adults and transform our communities by providing hope, love, compassion, and grace. We do this through offering college scholarships, sponsorships, and programs that will benefit young adults and the underprivileged. Our Foundation partners with our communities for fundraising events via social media fundraising as well as individual donors and corporate sponsors, so that we can provide scholarships and programs that will inspire our youth and help build strong leaders in our communities. There are so many ways that you can help us to restore hope in the world in which we serve. Would you please join our mission and be a part of transforming lives and restoring hope to those in need. |
Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together,
running over, will be put into your lap.
For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.

Foundation EventsThomas Victor Kelly "Never Give Up" Scholarship
San Diego - October 11, 1935 – January 21, 2021 Tom Kelly left us for his spot in Heaven on Thursday, January 21, 2021, after six challenging years. Tom died peacefully in his home with his family at his bedside. He was a dear friend to many, and it was an honor and privilege to know him. Once you entered his heart, it was forever, and he would forever be committed to you. He was a man of his word, a “Man’s Man” in every essence of the phrase. It has been said that he was one of those people who lit up every room he entered. Those kinds of people are rare, and we all take a little of their light for ourselves. He is now lighting up Heaven, and someday we will all be with him again. Until then, he will remain in our hearts as we retain a little of that still strong light. Tom leaves behind a devoted wife, Pam, of 46 years, daughters Noralyn and Suzanne, son Tom, eight loving grandchildren, five adoring great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ron. He loved them all dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Live Like Kayla Foundation. Empower through hope and education. Excitingly and fittingly, the foundation plans to honor Tom’s memory with the creation of a new scholarship for a deserving Helix High School graduate that will be called The Live Like Kayla Foundation Thomas V. Kelly “Never Give Up” Scholarship. Contact info: [email protected] |
